The history of Fuel CATCH

The Product No Spill and Non Spill have been redesigned and improved for boaters Fuel Docks around the world that are looking to protect the waterways and their boat's gelcoat by preventing fuel spills when fueling their boat. The product works by stopping fuel from spilling out of the fuel vent when fueling at the fuel dock and going into our waterways. This product was developed by inventor Johnny La Fata here is the story.

"My love for the ocean and its inhabitants began when I was just a toddler, when my father would take me out into the ocean on our boat. My Dad enlisted our Family into the US Coast Guard Auxiliary, using our boat to assist the US Coast Guard by helping stranded boat owners in the ocean. At 21 years old I followed in my father’s footsteps by enlisting into the US Coast Guard during the Vietnam war serving on a search and rescue ship in the North Atlantic. During my time in the Coast Guard, we dealt with too many fuel and oil spills, that resulted in a major impact to the waterways and the ocean life. I further immersed myself in the ocean by becoming a certified scuba diver, bringing me even closer to the ocean’s inhabitants and wanting to do more to protect them from water pollution. Living in Hawaii I worked in a scuba shop as an assistant scuba instructor, introducing tourists to the underwater world of these marvelous sea creatures. Upon moving back to Southern California in 2018, I was fortunate enough to live on a yacht on the island of Coronado. That year I formed Barnacle Flush, a marine cooling specialist company that services boat owners, with engine overheating issues preventing excess exhaust, fuel and oil pollution in our oceans and waterways.
The resurrection of the No Spill hence FuelCATCH.
One day when fueling my boat at the fuel dock, the attendant suction cupped a container device over my fuel vent product known as the “No Spill” by Davis co. A plastic container that captures the fuel overflow that escapes through the fuel vent. Upon completion of the fueling process, the captured overflow fuel gets poured back into the fuel inlet of the boat. After getting to know the fuel dock attendants, they knowing I was a product designer and previous manufacturer of consumer products, they asked if I would manufacture this item, being it has not been available since 2008. Being I am all for protecting our water ways from fuel pollution, and realizing the fines associated with fuel spills I decided to resurrect the product; henceforth the FuelCATCH redesigned much improved with more features, such as sill proof.
For many months we tested the porotypes, with the fuel docks and boat owners. With great success as a result of many months of successful testing we went into full production; made in the USA and assembled by The Adult Transition Program.
The FuelCATCH is strictly a temporary holding transfer container for diesel fuel, NOT intended for storage. The three-step process is very simple. Step 1 attach the FuelCATCH over the fuel vent remove the black top cap so there is no air back pressure, Step 2 fuel the boat, Step 3 any overflow into the FuelCATCH to be poured back into the fuel inlet. Clean the container, replace both the black top cap and the white inlet cap and store in ventilated area."
